Our Perfect Ten
ScotAsh Limited - the award winning joint venture between ScottishPower and Lafarge Cement - has celebrated its 10th anniversary. Incorporated on 14th June 1999, ScotAsh opened its doors for business on 5th July 1999.

Our Decade of Achievement
Completion of the £8 million
investment in autumn 2003 marked the
start of ScotAsh's rise to success as a
supplier of green construction products. With the capability to re-engineer ash
from the power stations by taking out
the carbon, the company could
produce a high quality mineral ash for
use in cementitious products.

Supplying 10 years of landmark projects
We have supplied products to a multitude of
interesting projects over the years. These have included infrastructure projects, such as
the Kincardine Bypass, the Clackmannanshire Bridge,
the Stirling-Alloa-Kincardine rail link, the awardwinning
Lairige Eilde Bridge at Glencoe and, more
recently, the M74 extension.

Awards highlight story of success
In recent years, our efforts have been recognised with a clutch of awards, including
two Queen's Awards for Enterprise - for Innovation in 2005 and Sustainable
Development in 2008. We were named National Example of Excellence in Business in the Community's
Marketplace Innovation Award 2007 and received our award from HRH Prince Charles
and former US Vice President Al Gore at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

ScotAsh Limited, the green cement company based at Longannet Power Station, Kincardine-on-Forth, last night (Tuesday 19th May 2009) scooped the Environmental Product/Service Award in the national Environment and Energy Awards 2009.

Haul of Awards Launches Our 10th Anniversary Year
ScotAsh has scooped two more awards in the first three months of its 10th anniversary year. Following last year's success in winning a Queen's Award and a national VIBES Award - each for the second time - the company received an award for Innovation in the inaugural Green Business Fife Awards.

ScotAsh cement chosen for tough marine project
Green, high early strength cement from ScotAsh is being used in a challenging pier project in the Inner Hebrides. Lafarge Cement has pioneered a unique logistics solution to deliver 4,500 tonnes of Phoenix cement to the Isle of Raasay. The island, just 14x3 miles, is one of the most remote in the UK.
