Showcase for our expertise
A seminar on the use of natural stone in Public Realm Programmes, hosted by ScotAsh in March, was a great success.
The seminar, held at the Grange Manor Hotel Grangemouth, was chaired by Forbes Macgregor from the Scottish Executive and attended by civil engineers, landscape architects and other professionals.
The day's events included a welcome from Fred Dinning, Group Energy & Environment Director at ScottishPower, followed by presentations from a panel of eminent speakers.
These included Ben Hamilton Baillie, the architect, urban designer and movement specialist, Brian Evans of Gillespies, Andrew Hayley from the Paul Hogarth Company and Stuart Dillett from Land Engineering.
Derek Fordyce and Lewis Dougan from Pavement Technology Ltd (PTL) provided technical expertise on the engineering of streetscapes.
Meanwhile Duncan Fraser, Strategic Service Manager at City of Edinburgh Council and Chair of IHT in South & Central Scotland addressed delegates on procurement and value.
Additional support for the event was kindly provided by Sika, Charcon and PTL.
Delegates had an opportunity to put questions to members of the panel and view exhibition material featuring examples of recent Public Realm projects.
ScotAsh intends to hold further seminars in the future. If you would be interested in receiving information, please contact Sandra Stewart on 01259 730110.
