Ron mucks-in to help lead Trust venture

ScotAsh Chairman Ron Hunter rolled up his sleeves to join a Princes Trust Volunteers project in Falkirk this summer - the 100th supported to date by ScottishPower in Scotland.

Ron helped lead the young, unemployed volunteers as they gave a "Ground Force" style makeover to a garden at a care home in Bonnybridge.

"We persuaded garden centres to donate plants for the garden, cleared paths, rebuilt walls and generally gave the place a makekover," Ron said. "It was a great team effort."

Ron was so impressed with one trainee - Ross McDougall - that he persuaded ScotAsh to take him on a placement for work experience.

HR Co-ordinator Eleanor Penman says: "Ross was quick to learn and fitted in to the team very well. We wish him all the very best for the future."
