ScotAsh lifted two out of the 18 Big Tick Awards handed out at Scottish Business in the Community's celebration dinner, held at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel on Thursday 5th June.

Several hundred people from Scotland's business community attended the glittering event, which was compèred by BBC Scotland's Sally Magnusson.

ScotAsh Managing Director Peter Quinn collected two Big Tick Awards - for Eco-efficiency and Marketplace Innovation. They were handed over by Scottish Cabinet Minister John Swinney.

Guest speaker for the evening was Derek Casey, Interim Chief Executive for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games while the evening's entertainment was provided by St Roch's Ceilidh Band and the tribal pipe and drum band, Clan Wallace.

In addition to the customary scrolls, ScotAsh was also given an oak sapling. The company is donating the young tree to the Scottish Mining Convalescent Trust.

It will be planted in the grounds of the Trust's home at Blair Castle, Culross, for residents to enjoy.
