Peter attended the Palace at the invitation of Her Majesty after ScotAsh became a Queen's Award winner for the second time in April.
A total of 136 UK companies received awards this year for International Trade, Innovation and Sustainable Development.
ScotAsh was the only Scottish winner in the 2008 Sustainable Development category.
Peter said: "Representatives from all the winning companies were presented to the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh and later we were one of a select group that the Queen spent time talking to.
"It was an evening I will never forget."
Peter was accompanied to the reception by ScotAsh board member Charles Law.
Charles recently left the UK to take up a new post with the Lafarge Group in Equador.
Peter said: "On behalf of the team I'd like to thank Charles for all he has contributed to ScotAsh and wish him all the best in his new post."
Lafarge Cement UK's Sales & Marketing Director Andy Murphy will succeed Charles on the ScotAsh board.
